5 Powerful Ways to Step Into Your Higher Self

Everyone has a different reason why they want to step into the highest version of themselves, but finding out how it’s really done? That part can often be frustrating. Here’s the truth: becoming the best version of yourself doesn’t have to be complicated. In fact, it often starts with the tools you already have.

We’ve collected 5 proven ways to help you feel more like the version of yourself you know you’re meant to be. You don’t need to follow them all. You don’t need to go in order. You can just start where you are. And remember: everyone’s journey is different! ♡

1. Visualization

Visualize the version of you that aligns with your goals.
What does their life look like?
What kind of energy do they carry?
What choices do they make on a daily basis?

This step might seem small, but it can save you so much time and energy down the road. Why? Because when you’re clear on what you want to feel, it becomes so much easier to choose actions that support those feelings.

Think about chasing easy dopamine, like when you instinctively reach for your phone the second you feel bored, uncomfortable, or unmotivated.

Here’s what’s really going on: Your brain is wired to seek rewards. When you scroll social media, play a game, or get a notification, your brain releases dopamine: a chemical that makes you feel good temporarily. It’s a survival mechanism, evolved to reward helpful behaviors. But today, many tech companies know how to hijack it. And as a result, we’re left in a loop of craving fast hits of pleasure that don’t actually make us feel fulfilled.

But once you become aware of this loop, and intentionally visualize a version of yourself who finds joy in deeper pastimes, you begin to reprogram that reward system. You teach your brain to associate satisfaction with purpose rather than distraction.

So what happens when scrolling doesn’t feel satisfying anymore?

You stop reaching for it.

And in that silence, space opens up for creativity, rest, clarity, and direction. That’s why visualization can often be the best first step to take when reaching for the highest version of yourself.

If you’re feeling unsure about what exactly you want, or maybe you can’t quite find the words to describe it yet, that’s okay. Sometimes the deepest desires start with a feeling: more peace, more love, more meaning, more direction. Let that be enough for now, and your clarity will grow with each step.

2. Locking It In

Once you’ve visualized everything clearly, the next step is to lock that vision into your subconscious mind, because lasting change happens from the inside out. The most effective way to do this is through spaced repetition. (Not the boring kind, but the kind that quietly rewires your mindset as you live your life.)

One of the simplest ways to do this is with printable affirmations. These small, intentional reminders speak directly to the version of you that you’re becoming. You can place them on your mirror, tuck one into your notebook, slide it inside your phone case, and more.

Over time, as your eyes pass over those words again and again, your brain begins to accept:
“This is who I am now.”

Let your affirmations live in your space. You don’t need to force change, just allow the repetition to do its work. The more often you read them, the more your brain accepts them as truth. And soon enough, your thoughts, habits, self-image, etc. will begin to align with that vision you created.

3. Digital Declutter

Your digital space affects your mental state more than you think. Clearing it out can often feel like a breath of fresh air.

The classic first step to a digital declutter is starting with your camera roll. This involves deleting anything random and unnecessary, like duplicate selfies, blurry photos, or screenshots of old grocery lists. Be intentional with anything emotional or meaningful, but don’t hold onto stuff just because it’s there.

Next, if you don’t already do this regularly, clean out your email inbox. Unsubscribe from newsletters you never open, clear out your spam folder, and sort important emails into their own folders if needed.

Digital decluttering gives you that “new phone” feeling, but better! If you haven’t looked at your inbox or camera roll in forever and have trouble managing it all, that’s okay. You don’t have to declutter everything in one sitting!

4. Creating the Space of Your Future Self

Your space sets the tone for how you feel. Look around: does your room reflect who you’re becoming? Or is it filled with old energy that just feels… off?

Refreshing your space doesn’t have to mean a full makeover. Sometimes, it’s just swapping out one or two things: a new scent, softer lighting, or a fresh background on your devices. Small shifts can change everything.

Let these small changes count up over time to work together to create an environment that embodies the new version of you. The #1 thing to remember is that this isn’t an overnight change, and rushing the process can lead to an inauthentic environment that just doesn’t feel like it’s “yours”.

5. Archiving the Old You

Letting go doesn’t always have to be deep or emotional. Sometimes, it’s just symbolic.

Archive the playlists tied to versions of you that no longer feel current. Sort through old journals, folders, or keepsakes and toss what no longer fits the direction you’re going in. And no, you aren’t “deleting” your past! Instead, you’re making space for a better “you “you” to grow. Think of it this way: even the strongest flowers need you to pull the weeds first. And sometimes, it takes a few rainy days before anything beautiful can bloom. ✿

This is the clean slate moment and the start of something fresh. Thank you for reading to the end! We wish you plenty of good luck ♡
